We’re not a gang… just dangerously good with cameras.

By GD Media

We’re not a gang… just dangerously good with cameras.

There’s a lot we take seriously at GD Media — our videography, our storytelling, and delivering for clients — but every now and then, it’s good to remind ourselves why we got into this industry in the first place… because it’s fun.

That’s exactly where our latest little side project came from.

Between shoots, edits, and everything else that comes with being a busy videographer team, both Gareth and Richard have always shared a love for films and TV. So, it was probably only a matter of time before those two worlds collided. And when they did, Sons of Aperture was born.

Inspired by the TV classic Sons of Anarchy, this design flips the concept on its head and brings it firmly into our world. Instead of an outlaw biker gang, we’ve got a crew of creatives — cameras in hand, chasing the next shot rather than the next ride.

We’re not a gang… just dangerously good with cameras.

The “aperture” reference felt like the perfect fit — a subtle nod to the technical side of what we do.

More Than Just Videography

At its core, GD Media is all about videography and visual storytelling. That’s what we do day in, day out. But creativity doesn’t switch off when the cameras stop rolling. If anything, that’s when it tends to wander into new territory.
This t-shirt is a perfect example of that.

It’s not a client brief. It’s not a commercial project. It’s just us having a bit of fun, stretching those creative muscles in a different way. As a videographer, you spend a lot of time focusing on other people’s stories — so every now and then, it’s nice to create something purely for the enjoyment of it.

The Start of Something Bigger?

What started as a one-off idea has already sparked a few more. There’s a long list of films and TV shows that have influenced us over the years, and now we can’t stop thinking about how they might translate into the media world.
This could be the first of many.

Should We Sell Them?

Here’s the question… this wasn’t originally meant to be anything more than an internal bit of fun. Something for us to wear on shoots, maybe get a laugh out of clients, and show a bit of personality behind the brand.
But the more we’ve shared it, the more people have asked the same thing:
“Are you selling these?”

So we’re putting it out there.

Would you actually wear one? Is this something you’d like to see us release? Maybe even a small run to start with?

Drop us a message, leave a comment, or let us know next time you see us on a shoot. If there’s enough interest, who knows — Sons of Aperture might not just be a one-off.

Just don’t expect us to start a gang anytime soon

Let’s get to work

Tell us what you need filming.

Brand film, social content, an event, a drone shot you can’t get any other way — give us the brief and we’ll tell you straight how we’d shoot it and what it costs. We’re a small, experienced crew, not the cheapest option in the county, and the work shows it.
