We price each job on the brief and shape the work to suit your budget. As a guide:
Every project is a bit different, so get in touch with a few details and we'll give you a clear quote before anything is booked.
We're based in Taunton and work across Somerset and the South West, throughout the UK and abroad. Travel is included for a round trip of up to 20 miles from our office, and after that mileage is 55p per mile. For jobs further afield, in the UK or overseas, we use a separate day rate for travel time, and accommodation and food are covered by the client. We agree all of this with you upfront, so there are no surprises.
It depends on the job, and we agree the delivery date with you at the start. As a guide, the first edit of a video is usually ready about 10 days after the shoot, event highlight films take 10 to 14 days, and headshots come back within about five days. Event photo highlights come within three working days, with the full gallery within a week.
GD Media keeps the copyright in everything we shoot. Once you've paid, you get a licence to use the photos and footage on your own website and social media, as set out in your quote or booking confirmation. We just ask that you don't edit them, that you credit GD Media, and that you check with us before using them anywhere else, such as in print or adverts. The licence is for your use only, so it can't be passed on or sold to anyone else. We may also show the work in our portfolio and marketing.
It helps to know what the content is for, who it's aimed at, where it will be used and your deadline. If you're not sure yet, that's fine, and we'll work it out with you on the first call.
Yes. A 50% deposit at booking secures your date, and the balance is due the day before the shoot at the latest. If you book less than two weeks before the shoot, we ask for full payment upfront. We take payment by bank transfer. Weddings have their own terms, which you'll find in the Weddings questions.
Yes. Video and photography come from the same team, so your film and stills work together and you only need one supplier.
Every video is different, so we price each one on the brief. As a guide, a filming day starts from £600 and a half day from £360, both including kit. Editing is priced separately, from £375 per day, and how much editing you need depends on the finished video. Send us a few details and we'll come back with a recommended approach and a quote, so you know where you stand before anything is booked.
We handle the whole production ourselves: direction, camera, audio, lighting, editing, colour grading and sound design through to final delivery. You have one point of contact from the first conversation to the finished film.
Yes. We can deliver social edits formatted for each platform, with captions where needed. If they weren't part of the original brief, we'll let you know the extra cost before we go ahead.
We usually send the first edit about 10 days after the shoot. Two rounds of changes are included, and any further changes are charged at our hourly rate.
You don't need a script, but if you'd feel more comfortable with one, use it. We can provide a teleprompter for you to read from, or write the script for you if you'd like. Either way, we work out the approach, shot list and schedule with you before filming starts.
Yes. We make standalone films, but we also work with businesses on regular content and monthly retainers, and we'll suggest what suits your goals.
Headshots come back as a retouched set with crops for web and print, usually within five days.
Yes. We keep the lighting and grade consistent across the whole team, even if it takes several sessions to get everyone in.
Yes, we style, light and shoot food on location for menus, social media, press and delivery platforms. You get menu and social crops and a graded set, usually the same week.
We send a set of highlights within three working days and the full gallery within a week.
We mostly shoot on location, at your premises or somewhere that suits the brief. Bonville House in Taunton is our office rather than a studio, but rooms there can be hired for a shoot if it's arranged in advance.
Headshots start from £225. Other shoots depend on what the images are for, how many you need and where we're shooting. Tell us about the job and we'll reply within one working day with a recommended approach and a quote.
No, we do that. Before each flight we check the airspace, get any permissions needed and carry out a risk assessment for the site.
Weather permitting, we capture everything we've agreed, but we won't fly if it isn't safe. If the weather turns, we work with you to adjust the schedule and do our best to get it all within the booked time. If delays are outside our control, we can stay on beyond the agreed time for an additional fee.

The highlight film usually takes 10 to 14 days, depending on the size of the project. We agree the delivery dates with you beforehand so they fit your post-event plans.
A detailed brief helps us most: the schedule, the key moments you don't want missed, the venue contact and what the film is for. If you'd like help writing it, we're happy to work through it with you. We then sort out camera positions, audio feeds and access with the venue in advance.
We plan backups for the essential coverage, and our crew is briefed to adapt when things change. If bad weather affects an outdoor event, we work with you to adjust the schedule and do our best to get everything within the booked time. If delays are outside our control, we can stay on beyond the agreed time for an additional fee.
It's a set of connected 360° views that people can click through to move around your building, with information points and links along the way. Visitors can look around at their own pace, whenever suits them.
They work well for care homes, schools, hotels, activity centres and other venues where people want to see the space before they visit or decide.

A basic tour is up to 20 photos and we can shoot it in a day. Rooms should ideally be clear of people, and we don't move furniture or arrange rooms, so please set each room up the way you want it shown.
We write blog posts, articles, guides, landing pages and website copy.
Yes. We research keywords and what people are searching for before we write, and each piece comes with a page title, meta description and internal links.
That's the aim. At the start we spend a good amount of time getting to know your business and setting out the main topics and themes we'll write about. We write in your brand's voice, and send you the angle, headline and structure to approve before each draft.
We use various different tools to produce the written content, and it is all checked by us before delivery.
Content writing packages start from £400 a month. What's included can be shaped around what you need, and each piece includes two rounds of changes. Tell us what you need and who it's for, and we'll come back with a quote.
We hand the finished writing over for you to upload. If we manage your website for you, we'll upload it ourselves.
Yes. Have a look at the films and photos on this page, and if you'd like to see more, get in touch and we'll send you full examples from weddings like yours.

Yes. We build a coverage plan around your schedule and coordinate with your planner and other suppliers where needed.
You'll get a few sneak peek photos within 48 hours of the wedding, and your final photos and film within 6 weeks of the wedding day.

We use AI to develop brand visuals, product concepts and mockups, concept frames and social videos, and to add to existing edits.
No. We write the prompts around your brand, review what comes out for accuracy and consistency, then edit, colour grade and retouch the selected images before you approve them.
Yes. Where it suits the brief we combine generated elements with our own photography or filmed footage.
Yes. When we deliver, we clearly mark the generated elements and give you guidance on how the content can be used.
Yes, generally. We only use tools whose terms allow commercial use, and we check every piece for real people's likenesses, other brands' logos and anything too close to existing work before it reaches you. Content made purely by AI may not be protected by copyright in the same way as traditional work, and platforms like Meta, YouTube and TikTok expect realistic AI content to be labelled, so we'll tell you where that applies.
Tell us what you need, where it's going and the deadline, and we'll give you an honest view on whether AI, filming or a mix of both is the better option.
Our office is at Bonville House, Blackbrook Business Park, Taunton TA1 2PF.
Yes. We can meet at our office in Taunton, at your premises or on a call, and you can review your edit remotely. Bonville House is an office rather than a studio, but rooms there can be hired for a shoot if it's arranged in advance.
Most Somerset projects can start filming within a week, and most Somerset shoots are within an hour of our base.
Travel is included for a round trip of up to 20 miles from our Taunton office. Beyond that, mileage is charged at 55p per mile, and we'll include it in your quote.
It really depends on the project and the look and feel you're after. We often use Vivary Park, Hestercombe Gardens, the Quantock Hills, the Blackdown Hills, the town centre and the County Cricket Ground, and we arrange access in advance where it's needed.
Yes. Our CAA-qualified drone team plans permissions before every flight there, and we'll tell you at the planning stage if a shot isn't possible.

We make short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, plus photography, and we also build longer-form YouTube channels such as Jake's Westcapades.
Yes. We can plan the posting calendar, write captions, schedule posts and manage comments and messages. We film and edit in batches, so each shoot gives you a bank of posts in a consistent style.
Our monthly packages start from £400 a month, which includes a two-hour shoot and four reels. From there we can build a plan around how often you post and what you want to grow. Packages have a minimum term of three months. Tell us where you post now and we'll suggest a package and a price.
Every month we send you a report on reach, views, follower growth and engagement, plus any other figures that are useful. It includes a short summary of how things are going, comparisons with similar accounts where that helps, and our ideas on direction and strategy.
Building a channel takes time, and in our experience it's at least 12 months before you see real results. There's no magic formula that makes an account go viral overnight. Posting good content consistently is what makes the difference.
We start by looking at your current channels, your audience and your competitors to see what's working and what could be better. That gives us a clear base for the plan before we film anything.
