Kitted Out

Kitted Out

Kukri Sports, one of the UK's leading sportswear brands, asked us to film a promotional video showing how they work in partnership with Rugby School and its sports department. Over two days of fast-paced filming, we captured students training, competing and wearing Kukri kit across the school's pitches, courts and tracks.

As a Somerset-based videography company, we work with brands and organisations across the South West and further afield, telling stories that feel real and worth sharing.

  1. The Objective

Kukri didn’t want glossy, over-staged content. The goal was twofold:

Partnership – To show Kukri and Rugby School working together, with the kit worn naturally as part of the school’s sporting culture. Promotion – To create a video that both organisations could use for marketing and to show future students, parents and partners what the collaboration is about.

  2. Our Approach

We took a documentary-style approach. You can’t re-run a training drill because the camera missed it, so we planned to anticipate the action, be in the right place and keep rolling. Our aim was to fit into the school’s day without disrupting sessions.

  3. Execution

Filming across rugby pitches, netball courts and athletics tracks. Intense training drills alongside quieter moments of focus before kick-off. A mix of ground cameras and drone footage to give a sense of scale. Slow-motion detail of tackles, passes and sprints.

In the edit, we used quick cuts and high-energy sequences, and made sure the moments of pride and celebration came through

  4. The Outcome

The finished promotional video gave Kukri and Rugby School content they could use for:

Marketing and social media. Showing prospective students and parents the school’s sporting culture. Presenting the partnership to future partners.

  5. Key Takeaway

Keep it real – people respond to authentic footage more than staged content. Read the action – fast-paced filming depends on experience and anticipation. Tell the people’s story – a good partnership is about shared values, not just logos.

At GD Media, we love telling stories about people, teamwork and pride, whether that’s on a construction site, in a community project or on the sports field. If you have a story you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you.

Let’s get to work

Tell us what you need filming.

Brand film, social content, an event, a drone shot you can’t get any other way — give us the brief and we’ll tell you straight how we’d shoot it and what it costs. We’re a small, experienced crew, not the cheapest option in the county, and the work shows it.
